POM的市场前景:
一是生产更趋集中和垄断，其中赫斯特－塞拉尼斯公司、杜邦公司、巴斯夫公司和三菱瓦斯四家公司生产能力占全球POM生产总能力的83％，这几大公司控制着世界POM的生产与市场，主宰着世界POM的命运。二是亚洲发展迅速，POM消费增加较快，1995年以前世界POM生产装置92％左右位于韩国，欧洲，等工业发达国家和地区；1997年至2004年亚洲尤其是日本，和中国台湾新建装置能力达到16.8万吨，加上新加坡的增加量，亚洲新增能力占全球新增加能力的66％左右。
