防晒保护：
产品机柜是一个封闭的铁箱体,当铁箱体在夏日阳光的暴晒下,太阳辐射热量就会通过被晒表面传入箱内,箱内温度就会上升,这样就会导致产品的整流模块或逆变模块、UPS因过温保护关机。同时箱内温度过高,对蓄电池是非常不利,不论吸附式还是胶体式密封铅酸电池都会因高温造成电池介质内的水分遗失。电池介质水分不足，电池转换效率就会下降,导致电池失效无输出。 防水保护 产品放在野外,防水是必须的,但是如果产品只满足IPX3(淋雨)防护等级是不够的,需要有预防暴风雨(雪)、雷阵雨时的雨水的入侵。 防水保护只考虑对雨水的预防,不需考虑对水浸的预防。个别地区,如常有洪涝灾害发生,应将室外通信站的平台建在2米以上或其它高地上，确保通信站各设备不会在灾害时浸泡在水中。 防尘保护 虽然对通信电源设备而言有一些灰尘入侵不会影响源设备的功能,但当设备安置在室外时,灰尘的入侵就严重多了。过多的灰尘入侵是会影响产品寿命或产品功能的。尤其在我国北方地区,沙尘暴时有发生,如产品有可能处在沙尘暴的侵袭中,就必须要有防尘保护措施。 灰尘是无缝不入的,所以防尘与产品机柜的结构、封装措施密切相关。整流模块工作效率在90%左右,逆变模块(UPS),DC/DC模块工作效率在80%以上,同时蓄电池在充电或放电时,都会发热,这就意味有10%～20%的能量必须以热能方式向外散发。室外通信电源系统产品内部热能向外散发的方式有二种:通风散热和外壳散热。
